Recap: top performances from top players

Here is a look at the top performances from last week (Dec. 21-28) from some of the top players in the country.

Class of 2012

No. 1 Shabazz Muhammad, SF

After scoring just two points in the first half, Muhammad finished with a game-high 26, but Bishop Gorman fell to Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) 79-69 on Wednesday in the fifth-place game at the City of Palms Classic. He went for 24 and nine rebounds in Gorman’s 81-33 rout of Rye (N.Y.) on Tuesday at the Beach Ball Classic (Myrtle Beach, S.C.).

No. 9 Grant Jerrett, PF

Jerrett was held to 12 points as La Verne (Calif.) Lutheran dropped a Chick-fil-A Classic semifinal game to Spring Valley on Wednesday.

No. 10 Gary Harris, SG

Harris led all scorers with 26 points, but Hamilton Southeastern fell to Lawrence Central on Wednesday, 70-68.

No. 14 DaJuan Coleman, C

The Syracuse-bound center scored 25 points in Jamesville-DeWitt’s 76-59 win over Mexico on Friday night.

No. 17 Alex Poythress, SF

Poythress nabbed MVP honors of the State Farm Holiday Tournament on Wednesday with a 35-point, 10-rebound, five-block effort in a win over Riverdale.

No. 19 Shaq Goodwin, PF

Goodwin finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds in Southwest DeKalb’s 76-55 win over Wilson on Wednesday at the Chick-fil-A Classic.

No. 24 Amile Jefferson, PF

The uncommitted senior had 21 points and eight rebounds in Friends Central’s 55-51 win over Urspringschule (Ulm, Germany) on Wednesday in the Signature Series of the City of Palms Classic.

No. 26 Sam Dekker, SF

Dekker was held to 13 points while facing double- and triple-teams in Sheboygan Lutheran’s 73-64 loss to Cuba City on Monday. He rebounded with 33 points on Tuesday night but Lutheran fell to Racine Lutheran 73-55.

No. 25 Brice Johnson, PF

Johnson led Edisto with 19 points in a 49-48 win over Cardinal Newman on Wednesday at the Chick-fil-A Classic.

No. 29 Kris Dunn, PG

Dunn had 31 of his 37 points in the first half of New London’s 105-55 rout of Killingly on Friday night. He went for 31 on Tuesday in a 72-63 win over Trinity Catholic.

No. 30 Ricardo Gathers, PF

Gathers scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in Riverside’s loss to Montverde (Fla.) Academy on Wednesday at the City of Palms Classic. He poured in 26 points and added nine rebounds in an 84-61 win over Southridge on Monday at the Les Schwab Invitational.

No. 31 Tony Parker, PF

Parker and Miller Grove finished the City of Palms Classic at 0-3 after losing to Lake Wales (Fla.) on Wednesday. The undecided senior had eight points and four rebounds in 21 minutes.

No. 33 Yogi Ferrell, PG

Ferrell scored 13 points and handed out 10 assists in Park Tudor’s win over North Central on Friday night.

No. 35 Braxton Ogbueze, PG

The Florida-bound guard exploded for 39 points, but his United Faith squad fell to Christ School (N.C.), 85-83, in overtime on Wednesday at the Chick-fil-A Classic.

No. 38 Torian Graham, SG

Graham went for 18 points in Arlington Country Day’s 77-66 win over Lexington (S.C.) on Wednesday at the Chick-fil-A Classic.

No. 41 Adam Woodbury, C

The Iowa signee had 15 points in Sioux City East’s 67-23 demolition of Abraham Lincoln on Thursday.

No. 43 Jerami Grant, SF

Grant had 12 points in DeMatha’s National Prep Classic win over San Diego Lincoln on Tuesday.

No. 50 Jordan Adams, SF

At the Les Schwab Invitational in Oregon, Adams led Oak Hill with 19 points in a 93-53 rout of David Douglas on Tuesday.

No. 52 Glenn Robinson III, SF

Robinson led Lake Central with 15 points in an 85-42 rout of Portage on Friday.

No. 55 Rosco Allen, SF

Allen chipped in 12 points in Bishop Gorman’s 81-33 demolition of Rye (N.Y.) on Tuesday at the Beach Ball Classic.

No. 57 Joel James, C

James set the single game rebounding record at the Kingdom of the Sun tournament on Tuesday grabbing 23 boards, while scoring 24 points in a 71-61 win over Williston.

No. 58 Jeremy Hollowell, SF

The Indiana-bound Hollowell chipped in 16 points in Lawrence Central’s 70-68 win over Hamilton Southeastern on Wednesday.

No. 60 Katin Reinhardt, SG

Reinhardt led Mater Dei with 23 points in the Monarchs 79-69 win over Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) on Wednesday in a fifth-place game at the City of Palms Classic. He scored 18 in a win over Burbank on Tuesday at the National Prep Classic.

No. 61 Justin Anderson, SF

The Maryland recruit led Montrose Christian to the Iolani (Hawaii) Prep Classic on Wednesday with 14 points in a 47-36 win over Orlando Christian.

No. 69 Tyler Lewis, PG

Lewis handed out 15 assists and added six points as Oak Hill won the Chick-fil-A Classic on Thursday with a 76-55 decision over Paul VI (Va.). He had 19 points in a 93-53 win over David Douglas on Tuesday at the Les Schwab Invitational.

No. 71 Evan Nolte, SF

Nolte had 14 points in Milton’s 51-31 win over Miami Sr. High on Tuesday at the Beach Ball Classic.

No. 80 Ronnie Johnson, PG

Johnson finished with 17 points in North Central’s loss to Park Tudor on Friday.

No. 87 Denzel Valentine, SF

Valentine had 17 points and 17 rebounds in Sexton’s 71-62 win over Romulus on Friday night.

No. 88 Terry Rozier, PG

Louisville’s future guard scored a game-high 28 points in Shaker Heights’ 55-47 win over Orange on Wednesday. On Friday night he led all scorers with 31 points in a 73-67 win over Richmond Heights.

No. 90 Jaron Blossomgame, SF

The Clemson commit scored 20 points in a 67-47 loss to Lancaster (S.C.) on Tuesday.

No. 93 Michael Frazier, SG

The Florida-bound Frazier scored 19 points and grabbed 11 boards in Montverde’s win over Riverside (La.) Academy in the third-place game of the City of Palms Classic on Wednesday. On Tuesday at the Kingdom of the Sun event, Frazier had 13 points and 10 rebounds in an 81-47 rout of North Clayton (Ga.).

No. 94 Zena Edosomwan, PF

The uncommitted senior had 11 points and 15 rebounds in a 70-58 win over Skyline (Wash.) on Tuesday at the National Prep Classic.

Class of 2013

No. 1 Jabari Parker, SF

Parker’s double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) led Simeon over Corliss 79-51 on Wednesday.

No. 2 Nerlens Noel, C

Noel grabbed 21 rebounds and added eight points, six blocks and four assists in Tilton’s win over Wilbraham & Monson on Wednesday in the Signature Series final at the City of Palms Classic.

No. 5 Chris Walker, PF

Walker had 20 points in a loss to Cottondale last week. On Tuesday at the Kingdom of the Sun tournament, he went for 30 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks in a win over Ponte Vedra Beach Nease.

No. 7 Aaron Harrison, SG

Harrison scored 17 points in Travis’ 78-30 romp over Central on Tuesday.

No. 11 Jabari Bird, SG

Bird pumped in 26 points in Salesian’s 76-57 romp over St. Raymond (Bronx, N.Y.) on Wednesday at the City of Palms Classic.

No. 26 Marc Loving, SF

Loving’s 17 points and five rebounds helped St. John’s blowout St. Francis 66-31 on Friday night.

No. 32 Greg McClinton, SF

McClinton scored 11 points in Winston-Salem Prep’s 61-45 win over East Forsyth on Monday.

No. 35 Bobby Portis, PF

The future Arkansas forward finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in Hall’s 63-39 win over Clarksville on Tuesday.

No. 37 BeeJay Anya, C

Anya scored 24 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in DeMatha’s 59-48 win over Lincoln (San Diego) on Tuesday at the National Prep Classic.

No. 40 Billy Garrett Jr., PG

Garrett struggled shooting the ball, going 4-of-18 shooting, but managed a game-high 21 points in Morgan Park’s 50-49 win over Hinsdale Central on Tuesday.

No. 45 Jaren Sina, PG

Sina scored a game-high 20 points – including the 1,000th of his career – in Gill St. Bernard’s 78-55 knockout of Franklin on Tuesday.

No. 48 Anton Gill, SG

Gill, a recent Louisville commit, scored a game-high 23 points in Ravenscroft’s 68-54 win over Greenfield on Tuesday at the HighSchoolOT.com Invitational.

No. 46 Jordan Bell, SF

Bell’s 12 points and nine rebounds helped Long Beach Poly past Cabrillo, 89-49, on Wednesday. On Friday he added 14 points, 10 boards and nine blocks in a 55-49 win over Compton.

No. 49 Sindarius Thornwell, SG

Thornwell led all scorers with 21 points in Lancaster’s 67-47 win over Chattahoochee on Tuesday.

No. 57 Bronson Koenig, PG

The Wisconsin recruit scored 18 points on 9-of-20 shooting in LaCrosse Aquinas’ 60-53 loss in overtime to Madison Edgewood on Thursday.

No. 60 Nolan Berry, PF

Berry went for 25 points and 10 rebounds in DeSmet’s 79-70 win over Chaminade on Thursday night. On Tuesday, Berry scored a game-high 16 points in a 58-33 win over Lindbergh

No. 3 Jahlil Okafor, C

Okafor led the way with 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in Whitney Young’s 81-38 rout of Manley on Wednesday.

No. 10 Wayne Selden, SG

Selden poured in a game-high 27 points in Tilton’s 62-48 win over Wilbraham & Monson (Mass.) on Wednesday in the Signature Series final at the City of Palms Classic.

No. 13 Cliff Alexander, C

Alexander finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in Curie’s 65-33 rout of Du Sable on Thursday.

No. 17 Paul White, SF

White’s stat line read 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks in Whitney Young’s win over Manley on Wednesday.
