8.55pm West Indies have survived a scare to force the series into a decider on Wednesday. Rashid was at it again with his ripping googlies and legbreaks. West Indies' inexperienced middle order was all at sea against the teenage sensation. Shai Hope, however, weathered that threatening spell to see West Indies home along with his captain Jason Holder, who had earlier set things up.
He had snaffled Noor Ali Zadran with a menacing short ball, after which Gabriel and Joseph followed suit. In all, five Afghanistan batsmen were bounced out. Afghanistan might not have reached three figures if not for Naib's valiant fifty. Do stick around for the presentation.
Stanikzai: Yeah, the total was not enough. 200-plus total would have been difficult for West Indies. The West Indies bowlers bowled very well. We are looking forward to play positive cricket in the final.
Holder: Good to get over the line, but still a few areas to improve on. I could not ask any more from the bowlers. We need to be more selective with the strokeplay, though. One thing we spoke about from the last game is to be more aggressive and make them uncomfortable. We have to find better ways to play them (Rashid and Nabi). I don't think they are unplayable
Hope, Man of the Match: Rashid is a decent bowler. We just need to play him well and smartly. My aim is to score runs as much as a possible and win games for my team.
That is all we have for you from this match. Looking forward to your company for the decider too. Until then, goodbye and good night. Cheers!
