5.50pm: So, another day, another South Africa win over England - that's five out of eight now. David Hopps has dissected the performances. Can the hosts claw their way back into the series? Join Alex and me again on Monday for full coverage of the second T20I from Old Trafford. Now scram.
5.40pm: It's presentation time. England captain, Stuart Broad: "We were probaby 20 or 30 runs short, we didn't adapt to the conditions very well and we have to move that forward on Monday. We struggled against spin and it's something we have to work on. It's not to much of a concern right now, we obviously need to adapt and turn it around. When you struggle to rotate the strike, you search for boundaries and they're hard to come by. We picked up early wickets and it gave us a sniff but we didn't have enough runs. We know Ravi is a class player and you only need one thing for it to click as a batsman, a bit of luck and hopefully Ravi can get that. Old Trafford [the next venue] has changed a lot, it's gone from one of the quickest wickets to one of the slowest, so we'll look at our options."
South Africa captain, AB de Villiers: "I was very pleased with that performance, the bowlers did really well. Dale Steyn bowled superbly whenever he came on, and the fielding unit did the job. Dale is one of the best bowlers in the world, he's a strike bowler. If you keep bowlers on the batsmen can get used to the pace, so ... The combinations, we're getting closer, Hashim didn't play today - he's scored so many runs, he needed a break, but he'll probably back for the next game or the one after. The batting is long and looks good, we'd like to get more of the guys time in the middle. I think captaining brings the best out in me and I like the view behind the stumps. Jacques looks fresh and energised and he's making the game look really easy."
Dale Steyn was named Man of the Match: "All the bowlers bowled well today, it was a team effort. I can live with bowling one-over spells, it's easier than bowling in a Test match. If you don't hit your mark straight away in Twenty20 batters can hit you out of the ground. The wicket was a bit slow and it was hard to hit over the top. [Ravi Bopara] is in a bit of a rough patch but he's a class player - it's not going for him at the moment. A guy like Hash misses out and a guy like Jacques comes in and does really well. I love Twenty20, it's easier on the body ... I can play a match and wake up feeling all right in the morning."
5.30pm: Well, that wasn't so much crash, bang, wallop as tickle, fiddle, yawn. South Africa take a deserved 1-0 lead in the series, they were very well organised and can take encouragement from the way they brushed England aside on a dry, turning pitch. AB de Villiers was proactive and inventive in managing his bowlers, who responded exceptionally well, while Jacques Kallis and JP Duminy were like cold-blooded contract killers in knocking off the runs. The psychological blows of the summer seem to have stupefied England and this was another heavy defeat.
And, with the scores tied, one run needed, Kallis has decided his bat is broken ... out trots water boy Amla with a selection of replacements
