England seal series in rain-hit game

England Women 108 for 6 (Gunn 30*) beat New Zealand Women 90 for 7 in 18.5 overs (Hazell 2-22) by 10 runs (D/L method)
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

England Women edged out New Zealand Women in the rain-shortened third Twenty20 in Auckland, to secure the five-match series 3-0. England were put in to bat and were tottering at 12 for 4 after three overs, before two partnerships of 40-something pushed them past a hundred. Jenny Gunn, with 30 not out, was England's top scorer.

New Zealand, whose players were wearing black armbands to mark the passing of the country's oldest female cricketer, Joy Lamason, at the age of 96, were off to a rapid beginning in their chase. Suzie Bates and Frances Mackay hit a six and a four respectively to take 13 runs off the first over. A couple of boundaries followed in the second and third overs, but New Zealand just could not match the early momentum at any other point in the innings.

After a few slow overs, Mackay was out, bowled attempting to swing on to the leg side, followed not long after by Bates - she went after skying one that was caught by the keeper. From there on England struck with regularity and when the rain came down, New Zealand were at 90 for 7 in 18.5 overs - 11 short of where they needed to be as per Duckworth-Lewis calculations.
