All-round India A take honours in drawn game

India A 473 for 3 dec. (Dhawan 179, Rahane 118) drew with Yorkshire 219 (Best 40, Dhawal 5-31, Abdulla 4-42)
Scorecard

Medium-pacer Dhawal Kulkarni and left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdulla were the stars for India A with the ball, as they helped skittle out Yorkshire for 219 in a drawn game in Leeds dominated by the visitors. Following up on India's impressive performance with the bat, the duo shared nine wickets to secure a first-innings lead of 254.

Yorkshire's batsmen were left to rue the fact that their middle and lower order, despite getting starts, did not push on. Charlie Roebuck, Alex Lees, David Wainwright, Lee Hodgson and Tino Best each got to double-figures but none reached a half-century as Kulkarni and Abdulla kept chipping away. There was some resistance from the tail, which stuck around to frustrate India and deny them a chance to bat again, but a tour that was meant to groom young talent in more testing conditions began for the visitors on a satisfactory note.
