South Africa A 388 for 4 (Davids 101, Puttick 93, Amla 81*, Petersen 73*) v Sri Lanka A
Scorecard
South Africa A, leading the three-match series 1-0, began their final four-day game against Sri Lanka A confidently, scoring 388 for 4 in 92.2 overs on the first day in Benoni. South Africa's batsmen justified captain Ahmed Amla's decision to bat first, with four of the top six, including Amla himself, scoring fifties.
Chanaka Welegedara struck early for the visitors - removing Blake Snijman for 6 - but Andrew Puttick, the leading run-getter so far in the series, put on 186 for the second wicket with Henry Davids. Puttick fell nine short of his third century in the series, out caught-and-bowled to offspinner Dilruwan Perera.
Davids went on to get a hundred, before he was out to Angelo Mathews for 107. Arno Jacobs missed out, falling for 16, but an unbroken partnership between Amla and Alviro Petersen took the score from 264 for 4 to 388 at stumps.
Amla was unbeaten on 81, and Petersen on 73. The runs came at a brisk pace for the hosts, with all the batsmen, except Snijman, scoring at a strike-rate of more than 65. The first match between the two sides in Potchefstroom had also been dominated by the batsmen, and ended in a draw.
