England claim innings victory

England Under-19 532 beat Pakistan Under-19 214 and 260 (Asad 80, Westley 3-82) by an innings and 58 runs
Scorecard

England Under-19 claimed the opening Test against Pakistan by an innings and 58 runs at Scarborough. Following their first-innings performance, the spinners were again key to England's success as Tom Westley, Liam Dawson and Alex Wakely shared six wickets.
Pakistan offered early resistance as Ahmed Shahzad and Shan Masood added 80 for the first wicket until Masood was caught off Dawson. Wickets then fell regularly as Dawson and Westley collected the first five including Umar Amin, who hit 113 in the first innings, for 25.

Wakely, the Northamptonshire allrounder, broke the monopoly when he ended a brief flurry by Gulraiz Sadaf with a return catch. As his team-mates fell around him, Ali Asad battled hard and added 63 with Mohammad Aamer before England's seamers finally made an impression.

Steven Finn removed Aamer and Mohammad Rameez in quick succession before taking the catch to end Asad's fighting 80 off James Harris. It was Harris who wrapped up the win when he removed Junaid Khan to complete a satisfactory three days for England on the field, even if off-field events had left a sour taste.
