England Under 19's were set a target of 309 to win the NatWest U19 Test match against Sri Lanka at Wantage Road in Northampton this morning.
Resuming on their overnight total of 268 for eight, Sri Lanka batted out another five overs before David Harrison, the Glamorgan medium fast bowler, snapped up the final two wickets after the visitors had added another 17 runs.
The dismissal of last man Muthu Pushpakumara for a mammoth 135, caught at mid wicket by James Dalrymple, gave Sri Lanka a lead of 308 on the final day of this second Test match.
Harrison finished with 3-55 after taking out Akalanka Ganegama's off stump in his second over of the morning while fellow seamer Tim Murtagh of Surrey also ended with three wickets.
It leaves England with 87 overs to make the required runs to go two up in the three match series and after the first over, openers Gary Pratt and Nicky Peng had reduced the deficit by six runs.
