New South Wales 269 and 1 for 15 lead South Australia 236 (Raphael 61, Lyon 3-63, Stobo 3-69) by 48 runs
Scorecard

Nathan Lyon and debutant fast bowler Charles Stobo helped New South Wales take a first-innings lead in their Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Adelaide Oval, where South Australia were bowled out for 236 on the second day. New South Wales went to stumps on 1 for 15 in their second innings, with a lead of 48 runs, and with Ed Cowan on 8 and Kurtis Patterson on 7.

The day had started with South Australia beginning their first innings, after New South Wales were dismissed for 269 to finish the first evening. A 49-run opening stand between Kelvin Smith and Jake Weatherald was broken by Stobo, who claimed both openers in the 20s, and then added the wicket of Callum Ferguson, who was bowled for 7.

Jake Lehmann fell to Lyon for 5, and Sam Raphael provided some fight before he lost his wicket to Harry Conway for 61. Tom Cooper (34) and Alex Carey (27) made contributions before Lyon finished off the innings to finish with 3 for 63, although not before No.10 Chadd Sayers provided some frustration for the Blues by hitting a late 35. Sayers was last out, stumped off Lyon.
