Rajshahi Division 177 for 4 (Ghosh 66*, Naeem 42*) trail Dhaka Division 280 by 103 runs with six wickets remaining
Scorecard
A 106-run partnership between Naeem Islam and Dhiman Ghosh helped Rajshahi recover from the loss of early wickets, and put them in a position from which they can overtake Dhaka's total of 280 on the third day. Shahadat Hossain did the early damage for Dhaka, taking three wickets to reduce Rajshahi to 71 for 4.
After lunch, there was a rain delay, and rather than give more assistance to the bowlers, it seemed to turn the tide in Rajshahi's favour. Naeem played the anchor role, taking 119 balls to score his 42, while Ghosh was the aggresor, hitting 10 boundaries in his 66 off 86 balls.
While Rajshahi's spinners had taken the bulk of the wickets on the first day, Dhaka's spinners did not follow up Hossain's start. Hossain had disimissed Jahurul Islam, Farhad Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahim in the morning, while Mohammad Sharif got rid of Junaid Siddique. Junaid was not happy with the decision to give him out caught behind and reacted angrily. He has been fined 50% of his match-fee for showing dissent.
