4 Man-of-the-Match awards for Brathwaite in Tests - most by any West Indies player in the last five years. Marlon Samuels and Shane Shillingford got two such awards each in that period. Brathwaite's first three awards had come in 2014.

1988 The last time a West Indies wicketkeeper scored 40 or more in both innings of an away Test, before Shane Dowrich did it in this match - 47 and 60*. 2004 The last time a West Indies opener scored a century and a half-century in the same Test outside home against a top-eight team - Chris Gayle in Centurion. Brathwaite and Gayle are the only West Indies openers to do so in the last 25 years. Brathwaite is the first to do this against Pakistan in the UAE.

87* Sixth-wicket partnership between Brathwaite and Dowrich, the highest unbroken sixth-wicket stand for West Indies in the fourth innings of a match.

1990 The last time West Indies defeated Pakistan in an away Test, in Faisalabad by seven wickets. Pakistan had won nine and drawn two in the 11 Tests before this match.
