Wing Lawrence Sebuliba will miss Uganda's crucial second game against Kenya in the 2018 Rugby Africa Gold Cup/World Cup qualifier in Nairobi on Saturday.

"Sebuliba cannot make the trip because he is injured and had a surgery on his broken arm. He got a bad arm injury during the first game away to Namibia last month," Ramzy Olinga, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) told KweséESPN on Tuesday.

After suffering a 55-6 defeat to Namibia last month, Cranes assistant coach Robert Sseguya told KweséESPN that it is unfortunate the team will be without their star winger for Saturday's clash.

"We badly need to get our act together and win our second game because Kenya has already won away to Morocco and last weekend against Zimbabwe," reasoned Sseguya.

"He [Sebuliba] is one of our key players, but we shall do with the players who are available and injury free. The game against Kenya will be a double header as it's also return leg of the regional Elgon Cup.

Kenya picked a 34-16 victory in the first leg played at the Legends Rugby Ground in Kampala in May.

Key players Michael Okorach, Philip Okorach and Ivan Magomu, who missed the opening game against Namibia have been recalled to boost the Uganda Rugby Cranes.

The duo of Gerald Sewankambo and Simon Olet have also been recalled in the squad named on Tuesday.

"I am happy that I will have a role to play in this game against Kenya because our games against Kenya are always tough games," said Micheal Okorach, who captained the national team during the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia.

After battling arch-rivals Kenya, Uganda prepare home games against Tunisia, Morocco and Zimbabwe in August.
