Mario Gotze's brother, Felix, in Bayern Munich's Champions League squad

Mario Gotze's Bayern Munich career fell short of expectations, but his younger brother still has a burgeoning future at the club.

Central defender Felix, 18, impressed in preseason with the Bavarian giants, while Mario returned to Borussia Dortmund this summer after three largely disappointing seasons in Munich.

A former Dortmund youth player, Felix is the youngest of the Gotze brothers and has been named in Bayern's squad for the Champions League group stage. Fabian, the eldest at 26, began his career at Dortmund too and last played for SpVgg Unterhaching before leaving the club last summer.

Felix is part of the "B" list, which features an unlimited number of players, who qualify as long as they're born after Jan. 1, 1995 and have been registered with the club for two consecutive years.

U.S. international Julian Green, 21, is also on the "B" list, while 20-year-olds Nicolas Feldhahn and Erdal Ozturk, who both caught the eye in preseason, were also selected.
