Transfer Talk: Man United to target Mbappe, Camavinga, Coman under Qatari ownership

The transfer window may be closed around Europe, but teams are looking ahead to the summer and there's plenty of gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Man United to target Mbappe under Qatari ownership

Manchester United's potential new owner from Qatar is planning to make waves in the transfer market with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe, says Bild.

Qatar-backed Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani submitted his third and final bid to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family at the end of April, with British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe also submitting a bid.

Sheikh Jassim is only interested in a a full takeover of the club, which would remove all debt and provide money for transfers. As such, a triple swoop of three France internationals is on the cards, with Mbappe being targeted alongside Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman.

Mbappe, 24, is considered the best young player in world football and signed a new contract with PSG until the summer of 2024 after snubbing a free transfer to Real Madrid last summer. His transfer fee could break the €222m world record set by Neymar's move to Paris from Barcelona in 2017.

21.34 BST: Newcastle are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, according to Sky Germany.

It is understood that the Magpies have scouted the 22-year-old on multiple occasions this season, as well as tracking his teammate Amadou Haidara, but Eddie Howe's side are believed to hold stronger interest in the Hungary international.

Szoboszlai scored two goals in Leipzig's 5-1 league win over Freiburg on Tuesday, and although the Bundesliga side would prefer to keep hold of him, a release clause in his contract allows him to be acquired for a fee of €70 million.

21.02 BST: Barcelona are confident that they can sign Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco this summer, reveals AS.

Diego Simeone's side were previously believed to be looking for a fee of €16 million, but the Blaugrana's director of football Mateu Alemany believes the move could be completed for a figure in the region of €10 million -- in what would be his last signing at the Camp Nou before he leaves at the end of the season.

Carrasco, 29, has found bright form of late for Los Colchoneros, having contributed to six goals in his last eight games, including a goal and an assist in the 5-1 La Liga win over Cadiz on Wednesday.

20.37 BST: Paris Saint-Germain have placed AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori on their shortlist, understands Gazzetta dello Sport.

With PSG set to part ways with Sergio Ramos, as well as growing uncertainty over the long term future of Presnel Kimpembe, it is reported that the Ligue 1 side are keen to make another addition in defence this summer, having already secured a move for Internazionale's Milan Skriniar on a free transfer.

Tomori, 25, has been a key player for the Rossoneri since joining from Chelsea, helping his side win the Scudetto last season, and the Parc des Princes hierarchy believe he would solve multiple problems for their squad.

20.11 BST: AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is closing in on a switch to Serie A side Monza, writes Foot Mercato.

The 41-year-old is set to miss the remainder of the season after sustaining another injury while on international duty with Sweden, and out of contract in the summer, the latest indicates that his time at the San Siro is set to come to an end.

A deal with Monza is reported to be close, with Ibrahimovic having a good relationship with the club's board.

19.40 BST: A host of Premier League sides are keen on FC Porto centre-back David Carmo, according to Ekrem Konur.

Wolves, West Ham, and Leicester City are all reported to be keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old, while there is also interest from Burnley and Sheffield United, who have both secured promotion to England's top flight ahead of next season.

Carmo, once linked with Liverpool, has made 13 appearances across all competitions in the current campaign, including five starts in the Champions League.

18.59 BST: Real Madrid believe on-loan right-back Vinicius Tobias could be an option to sign this summer, writes Sport.

He has been a standout performer while playing for Real Madrid Castilla this season, and with the LaLiga side looking to promote him to the senior team, it is said that they have already enquired with Shakhtar Donetsk over another loan spell, though they could sign the 19-year-old permanently for a fee of €10 million.

18.30 BST: Winger Reiss Nelson has dismissed a contract offer from Arsenal, reports Fabrizio Romano.

It is reported that the 23-year-old is set to make his decision at the end of the season, but having seen all eight of his appearances in the Premier League come from the bench, he could need more guarantees of first team football.

Clubs in England as well as in Europe are believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation, with Nelson able to be signed as a free transfer.

17.51 BST: Santos forward Marcos Leonardo is on the radar of Roma and Monaco, as well as a number of clubs in Portugal and the Netherlands, reveals UOL.

The 20-year-old Brazil youth international, who is contracted at the Brasileiro Serie A side until 2026, is reported to be available for a fee of €20 million, but a clause in his contract means that Santos will be required to hand him a salary increase if they refuse a €15 million proposal.

17.17 BST: Newcastle are interested in signing Rennes and Croatia international midfielder Lovro Majer, says Foot Mercato.

The 25-year-old, who has also been on the radar of Atletico Madrid, has attracted interest from across Europe following a run of impressive performances in Ligue 1 this season, and the Magpies are only the latest club to take notice.

It is reported that a fee of €40 million would be required to land him.

16.44 BST: Should Tottenham cash in on £100m+ Harry Kane transfer this summer or keep him for another year, even though they could lose him for nothing in a year? The club must decide soon to avoid a saga, writes James Olley.

With a contract that expires in 2024, Kane will discuss his future with the club at the end of the season. At the moment, sources have told ESPN that Spurs do not want to let their all-time record goal scorer leave, but there is no suggestion yet that the 29-year-old will sign an extension and the club's hand may be forced.

Sitting nine points behind fourth-placed Manchester United (who have two games in hand), Champions League qualification is all but beyond them and another season of transition next year appears inevitable. There is currently no permanent head coach after the sacking of Antonio Conte, no director of football (after Fabio Paratici resigned when his 30-month ban from his time at Juventus was extended worldwide by FIFA), and the squad is badly in need of upgrades both in defence and midfield.

An early decision over Kane, communicated efficiently and decisively, is essential for all parties to move forward. If Tottenham refuse to let him go, they should issue a statement to that effect and confirm on the record that they will force him to honour the final 12 months of the six-year, £200,000-a-week deal he signed in 2018. But if Kane states his desire to leave and Spurs opt to grant his exit, they must not allow the situation to drag on all summer.

15.45 BST: Goal says Juventus will listen to offers of around €11m for winger Samuel Iling-Junior.

Iling-Junior, 19, moved to Turin in 2020 from Chelsea but has seen his chances of first-team football fade with Filip Kostic's good form.

The England U20 international is under contract until 2025, but various Premier League sides are reported to be interested in signing him.

15.03 BST: Chelsea co-controlling owner Todd Boehly has pleaded for patience from the club's supporters but insisted they will "figure out" a path to long term success.

Boehly and Clearlake Capital completed their takeover of Chelsea almost a year ago and invested more than £600m on players but find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League nearing the end of a trophyless season.

After appointing Frank Lampard as caretaker boss last month following the sacking of Graham Potter, Chelsea are looking for a new permanent head coach with ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino in advanced talks to take the role.

Another summer of transition awaits and speaking in Beverley Hills in conversation with Milken Institute chairman Michael Milken, Boehly said: "The fans are demanding. They want to win. We get that. We want to win. Our view, though, was that this is a long-term project and we are committed to the long-term and we very much believe that we are going to figure it out.

"We have got the best league in the world, what I think is the top city in the world and we have an unbelievable location in the top city in the world."

14.31 BST: Jude Bellingham would thrive at Real Madrid.

13.35 BST: Newcastle United will test Barcelona's resolve to keep Raphinha with an offer of €80m this summer, according to Jijantes.

Eddie Howe's side are in line to qualify for the Champions League next season and want to strengthen their squad to help compete on multiple fronts.

Raphinha, 26, is said to be one of their targets, with Barca needing to raise cash this summer to register new contracts and strengthen elsewhere.

In theory, Raphinha is not one of the players they are actively looking to move on, but they could be open to offers if they are higher than the €55m they paid Leeds United for him last summer.

Raphinha has enjoyed a solid first season at Spotify Camp Nou, scoring 10 goals and assisting 11, but is not a guaranteed starter in Xavi Hernandez's side, with Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres providing competition on the right wing.

Barca are also keen on re-signing Lionel Messi, who also plays off the right, and Raphinha's departure could help fund the Argentine international's return.

12.41 BST: Arsenal have a six-man transfer target list for the summer, says the Daily Mirror.

The Gunners will be back in the Champions League next season and, even if they miss out on winning the Premier League title, will have a healthy amount to spend this summer.

A midfielder is high on the agenda, with West Ham's Declan Rice and Brighton's Moises Caicedo on their shortlist. Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia is also being tracked.

A winger could arrive in the shape of Bayer Leverkusen's Moussa Diaby or Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha, while defensive reinforcements are also being touted, with Palace's Marc Guehi linked.

12.15 BST: Former Portugal international Deco is among the candidates being considered to replace Mateu Alemany as Barcelona's director of football, sources have told ESPN.

Deco, 45, has been working as an agent since his retirement from the game and has collaborated informally with Barca president Joan Laporta during the last two years.

As Raphinha's representative, he helped oversee the deal that saw the Brazil forward join Barca from Leeds for over €50m last summer.

Barca are making changes to their executive structure after Alemany informed the club of his decision to embark on a new project elsewhere at the end of the campaign.

11.34 BST: Chelsea are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Zaha, 30, has yet to sign a new contract, with his current terms set to expire at the end of June.

The Ivory Coast international is being tracked by Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter, Napoli and Marseille. But Chelsea could offer him a large wage packet, as they wouldn't be spending a large transfer fee.

11.00 BST: Could Lionel Messi return to Barcelona?

10.23 BST: Liverpool are making moves to persuade Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister to join them this summer, says Fabrizio Romano.

The club have reportedly presented their project and financial proposal to the 23-year-old Argentina international and are in talks over a deal.

Brighton want to keep Mac Allister, and have an option to extend his contract until 2026, but a bid of around £70m would be hard to turn to down.

09.45 BST: Former Benfica coach Nelson Verissimo has backed Joao Felix to succeed at Chelsea.

The Portugal forward is on loan at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, whom he joined for €126m from Benfica in 2019, until the end of the season.

Verissimo, who has been out of a job since leaving Estoril earlier this year, met two former Benfica players, Felix and Carlos Vinicius in London this week. He wrote on social media: "In London, still time to be with Joao Felix. Also for Joao, I believe, it is a matter of time before his football can emerge. Joao is excited about the challenge ahead of him. Chelsea, unlike Fulham, are going through a more difficult phase, but the bets placed on this squad could bear fruit in 2023/24. The talent is there, and the project goes far beyond what you can see. I know that Joao will end up showing what we all know he never lacked: resilience and a natural talent that any football fan loves."

09.22 BST: Neymar has posted a message on his Instagram stories after a small group of PSG fans gathered outside his house to demand that the Brazilian leave the club.

The group of fans are believed to have travelled to Neymar's house in Paris on Wednesday and chanted for the forward to leave.

In a statement, PSG condemned the "intolerable and insulting actions" of those supporters.

Neymar wrote on Instagram: "Don't let people put you in their storm, put them in your peace."

Neymar, who is in his sixth season at PSG, is recovering from a season-ending ankle injury sustained in March.

08.56 BST: Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has not yet signed a contract extension, with his deal ending this summer.

The coach says he will only remain at the club next season if he can continue to contribute to the team's growth. Napoli, who want Spalletti to remain, need a point at Udinese on Thursday to win their third Scudetto, their first Serie A title in 33 years.

He said: "My contract to remain at Napoli? There are still beautiful things left to be done but what matters more than the contract for me is to get the job done and play well in our remaining games. Only then will we think about celebrating. I will ask myself if the conditions are there to give to the fans what they deserve. That will be the starting point."

Spalletti, 64, took over Napoli from Gennaro Gattuso in May 2021.

"When Napoli contacted me, I said yes knowing that I had to win because before [Maurizio] Sarri, [Rafa] Benitez and [Carlo] Ancelotti had been here before me," the former Inter Milan and Roma coach said.

08.30 BST: Real Madrid are optimistic of beating Manchester City to the signing of Jude Bellingham, but various sources have told ESPN it's too early to talk about any sort of agreement being reached.

Bellingham, 19, is one of the most sought-after players in the world and ESPN first reported Madrid's serious interest in the Borussia Dortmund midfielder last November.

Liverpool were thought to be the favourites to sign the England international at the time but Jurgen Klopp's side pulled out of the running last month.

Following Liverpool's withdrawal, sources told ESPN that Premier League champions City felt they were best positioned to land Bellingham's signature.

However, as reported by ESPN in recent months, Madrid have never given up hope of signing the former Birmingham City player and now believe they are the favourites to do so.

PAPER GOSSIP (by Adam Brown)

- Barcelona are confident of signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi in the summer, according to Footmercato. Sources confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday that the 35-year-old will leave PSG at the end of the season. Leao has been a key player for the Serie A side this season, having contributed to 19 goals in 31 league games.

- Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is on the radar of Al Ittihad, reveals Footmercato. - Chelsea and Manchester United are leading the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Sky Sports Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg. It is reported that the two Premier League rivals are ahead of PSG in the race for his signature.

- On-loan Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst wants to remain at Old Trafford beyond next season, writes The Telegraph. The 30-year-old will return back to Burnley at the end of the season, but could be moved on with previous reports indicating that manager Vincent Kompany didn't see him as part of his system. It is reported that a decision is yet to be made on whether or not Erik ten Hag will choose to keep him at the club.
