ESPN FC Player of the Month: Ronaldo, Robben or Choupo-Moting?

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the past two ESPN FC Player of the Month awards on the bounce after narrowly missing out on the season's opening month to Diego Costa. Europe's top performers in November have been whittled to a three-man short list in consultation with stats website WhoScored.com and ESPN FC's writers. Now it's up to you to select which of the three deserves to be named the ESPN FC Player of the Month.

Whether you agree with the nominations or think there are notable omissions, let us know on Facebook and Twitter -- using the hashtag #espnfcplayer -- as well as in the comments section below.

NOTE: Only players with two or more appearances were considered.

CRISTIANO RONALDO (Real Madrid)

Cristiano Ronaldo's performances of late have become so dominant and so metronomic that Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique has called the Portuguese "a perfect machine." In the previous two months, Ronaldo's numbers were pretty heavily lopsided in favour of goals over assists. In November, however, CR7 logged seven assists in four La Liga fixtures, on top of four goals.

Says Real Madrid blogger Nicholas Rigg: "One of the few criticisms leveled against Cristiano Ronaldo when little else could be thrown his way was that he was a selfish player, more concerned with his own achievements than that of the team. Not anymore.

"Ronaldo has enjoyed another spectacular month and in doing so he has chalked off one of the few perceived failings in his game. He is no longer an exceptional individual, he is helping improve his teammates and his team, too."

ARJEN ROBBEN (Bayern Munich)

Arjen Robben's importance to the Netherlands at the World Cup made him a strong contender for the Golden Ball. As the calendar turns to December, the Dutch dazzler has kept up his improbable form, notching four goals and three assists in November across all competitions for Bayern Munich and his country.

"Arjen Robben is the top-ranked player in the respected German football magazine kicker's ratings," Bayern blogger Mark Lovell says. "Bayern have won every league game in which Robben has featured this season -- six goals in just nine appearances (eight of them starts). Not bad for a winger."

ERIC MAXIM CHOUPO-MOTING (Schalke 04)

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting may not carry the same award-winning pedigree of Ronaldo and Robben, but the Cameroonian has become a mainstay in Schalke's attack. Paired with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Choupo-Moting tallied two goals and two assists in the final two Bundesliga fixtures of November.

Stephan Uersfeld writes: "With just over a third of the season played, it is safe to say that the signing of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been more than just decent business for Schalke 04. Whereas strike partner Huntelaar rules the box, Choupo-Moting can be found outside, working the wings and going the extra mile.

"In their 5-0 Champions League defeat against Chelsea, the seasoned Bundesliga player not only had the only chance of the night for Schalke, but showed his 'never say die' spirit, which has made the former Mainz star irreplaceable at his new club."
