Man United could send Angel Di Maria back to Real Madrid for Gareth Bale

Even the tiniest transfer rumours get the Transfer Talk crew's heart rate going, so imagine what a blockbuster deal like this one does ...

Bale for Di Maria in transfer whopper

The rumours of Gareth Bale's numbered days at Real Madrid have been circulating for a while. The heat turned up on said rumour when Manchester United were reported to be a possible new home.

Prepare for the whitest of white hot now, as The Daily Star are reporting that Carlo Ancelotti is willing to consider letting Bale go, but only if Manchester United send Angel Di Maria back to los Blancos in return.

You'll remember Di Maria moved from Real Madrid to United this summer as the brass at Old Trafford spent a record 153 million pounds bringing in players for new boss Louis van Gaal. While things haven't worked out thus far on the pitch, Di Maria has been a bright spot, always looking like the best player in the lineup for his new club.

Di Maria's break from his former club wasn't entirely clean. It was clear he wasn't thrilled to leave and even superstar Cristiano Ronaldo questioned the Madrid brass for letting his Argentine pitch partner go.

Could they be reunited once again? Time will tell. But with Ancelotti said to be disillusioned with Bale and Isco filling in more than admirably while the Welshman was sidelined with an injury, you can be sure Transfer Talk will be keeping very close tabs on this one.

Alaba, Coentrao in injury-riddled mess

Once again a purported transfer deal may find its way to the trash heap thanks to an injury. Fabio Coentrao was set for a January move from Real Madrid to Manchester United, with the Red Devils having already expressed interest over the summer.

However, the whole thing was contingent on Carlo Ancelotti & Co. bringing David Alaba in from Bayern Munich to be the new first-choice left-back. Alas, the Austrian suffered an injury in Bayern's 2-0 Champions League defeat of Roma and now the whole thing looks to be off.

It's a lose-lose all around, not the least of all for Alaba, who could miss two to three months according to Pep Guardiola.

Pique to Premier League?

After he spent the past two matches for Luis Enrique and Barcelona on the bench, the time may have finally come for former Man United man Gerard Pique to return to the Premier League.

So long, Lucas Leiva?

We fanned the transfer flames of a Lucas Leiva move to Napoli for a good chunk of the summer window. Both the player and boss Rafa Benitez were on the record saying they wanted to get a deal done. They didn't.

In a report on Football Italia, Lucas has reignited the rumour, saying Benitez "has again asked to sign me" away from Liverpool.

The Brazilian hasn't featured regularly for Brendan Rodgers and it seems as though he just wants to play. Liverpool may be willing to let him go if they flame out of the Champions League and no longer need the additional depth in midfield.

"Over the summer there was interest from Napoli, along with other clubs," said Lucas. "My objective for now is to play consistently."

Delph done with Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph is eager for a move away from the club when his contract ends in the summer, according to The Telegraph.

The newly minted England international has reportedly turned down a four-year deal worth 50,000 pounds a week in order to keep his options open in the transfer window.

Delph said last summer that he owed Villa for keeping faith in him through two major knee injuries, but it appears that the 24-year-old now feels his debt has been paid.
