Transfer Rater: Liverpool eye Quincy Promes, Arsenal target Marco Reus

Things change in the blink of an eye in football.

The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers...

Marco Reus to Arsenal

According to The Sun, Arsene Wenger is making a contingency plan for if Alexis Sanchez fails to agree on a new contract at the club. Sanchez's current deal expires in 2018 and reports suggest the Chilean wants his £135,000-a-week wage increased to £200,000-a-week, something Arsenal are hesitant to do. Wenger is a long-term admirer of Borussia Dortmund attacker Reus and feels may try to convince the German to join Mesut Ozil at the Emirates stadium.

Quincy Promes to Liverpool

The Liverpool Echo revealed that Liverpool are looking at Spartak Moscow attacking midfielder Quincy Promes as they plan to bring in reinforcements this January. The Reds are losing Sadio Mane to the African Nations Cup and will be without Danny Ings due to injury leaving them a little light in wide areas. Promes has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in the past. He's started the season well with five goals and five assists as Spartak climbed to the top of the table.

Serge Gnabry to Bayern Munich

Gnabry made his feelings quite clear when asked about rumoured interest from Bayern Munich despite only joining current club Werder Bremen in August. Bundesliga champions Bayern were reportedly interested in the former Arsenal man in the summer but the allure of first-team football at Werder Bremen was too tempting for Gnabry, who has since made his senior debut for Germany.

Alex Sandro to Manchester City

The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester City are closing in on Juventus' Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro. His current contract, which expires in 2020, has a £25.6 million release clause but Juventus are planning to increase this to closer to £40m by offering the full-back a new deal. City have had scouts watching Sandro as they look for a long-term solution at left-back and the 25-year-old fits the bill.

Jack Wilshere to AC Milan

The Daily Star reports that AC Milan are interested in reigniting their interest in Arsenal's Jack Wilshere. Milan were one of the clubs courting the Arsenal midfielder in the summer before Wilshere opted to join Bournemouth on a season long loan. The 24-year-old only has 18 months left on his current Arsenal deal and negotiations are yet to start on a new one.
