Transfer Rater: Blaise Matuidi to Chelsea and Bruma to Tottenham

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Edin Dzeko to AC Milan

Edin Dzeko has emerged as summer transfer target for AC Milan as the Rossoneri look to strengthen their attacking options.

Dzeko, 31, has found the net 35 times in all competitions for the Giallorossi this term and is their top scorer, looking a different player to the one who struggled for consistency at Manchester City.

With a contract running until 2020, Roma are under no pressure to sell, but may be willing to sacrifice the Bosnia and Herzegovina international in order to add reinforcements elsewhere in the squad.

Bruma to Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino is plotting a £9 million summer swoop for Galatasaray's young Portuguese winger Bruma, according to The Sun.

The Spurs boss will offload Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N'Koudou, who have both struggled to impress, freeing up space for in the squad for a new midfielder.

The 22-year-old attacker has scored scored eight goals and provided six assists in 23 Super Lig appearances so far this season, but with only one year left on his current contract the Turkish club could be open to selling the player.

Anthony Modeste to West Ham United

Cologne's Anthony Modeste is the latest striker to be linked with West Ham as the East London club look to improve their forward line.

The Hammers have struggled in that position this season, and have had to play Michail Antonio, a natural winger, as a lone striker at times.

Modeste, 29, has scored 25 goals in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal this term and will cost West Ham £25 million, though they face competition for his signature from Marseille and Nice.

Gylfi Sigurdsson to Southampton

Swansea City talisman Gylfi Sigurdsson is a target for Southampton. The Iceland international has been a standout performer for the Swans despite their relegation struggles. The 27-year-old's current deal runs until 2020, but the club are unlikely to keep hold of such a valuable asset should they drop into the Championship.

West Ham and Leicester City are also interested in Sigurdsson's services.

Blaise Matuidi to Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi is expected to leave the Parc des Princes this summer, with Chelsea leading the race to sign the France international.

The 30-year-old's contract expires at the end of next season and the player snubbed the new deal offered by the club in the autumn. The situation means that the French champions could be willing to accept as little as £12 million to avoid losing the player for nothing next year.

A move would bring an end to a six-year spell in the French capital for Matuidi, in which he has scored 23 league goals.
