Leon striker Mauro Boselli the main man in Apertura Week 17 in Mexico

Leon striker Mauro Boselli is hitting his stride at the perfect moment. The Argentine has scored five times in his past three games and will undoubtedly be spearheading his team's charge in the playoff quarterfinals against America this week.

With the 30-year-old leading the list, let's check out some of the best individual performances from Week 17 of the Apertura ...

1. Mauro Boselli, FW, Leon

After the two goals scored against Dorados in Saturday's 3-0 win, Boselli has now amassed an impressive 13 goals in the Apertura. As joint top-scorer in the regular season, the striker now has plenty of momentum heading into the Liguilla for Leon.

2. Dayro Moreno, FW, Tijuana

Once again, Moreno emerged as one of the only successful players in a struggling Tijuana side. The Colombian striker scored twice in Friday's 2-0 win over Atlas, the team's first victory since September. Moreno easily finishes the season as the club's best player of the tournament.

3. Aviles Hurtado, FW, Chiapas

If Chiapas wants success in the playoffs, the club will likely need to rely on the attacking talents of players like Silvio Romero and Hurtado. Over the weekend, the 28-year-old was vital with his goal and assist in the 3-2 win against Pachuca.

4. Enrique Triverio, FW, Toluca

Triverio was one of the highest-pressing members of Toluca's attack in Sunday's 3-1 win over Monterrey. The Argentine benefitted from his movement forward and scored twice for Los Diablos Rojos. Triverio now has five goals in his past three games.

5. Silvio Romero, FW, Chiapas

Romero's role with Chiapas can't be overlooked. The 27-year-old created two goals in Chiapas' victory and has finished the regular season with a total of eight. He's played a part in more than half of the goals that Los Jaguares have scored in the Apertura.

6. Guillermo Allison, GK, Cruz Azul

Keeping Tigres scoreless is not an easy task. Allison was massive for Cruz Azul and made five saves in Friday's 0-0 draw. The shutout was the first of the season for the goalkeeper, who is currently replacing the injured Jesus Corona.

7. Luis Montes, MF, Leon

Montes was near-perfect with his passing against Dorados and created the amazing assist for Boselli's second goal. The midfielder was excellent with his long balls and was also not afraid to try his luck from distance.

8. Carlos Darwin Quintero, FW, America

Quintero didn't score in America's 1-1 draw with Pumas, but the Colombian was Las Aguilas' most dangerous player. The America attacker was excellent with his dribbling and was unlucky to finish the game without a goal. Quintero also had a few excellent passes that should have led to an assist.

9. Henry Martin, FW, Tijuana

Martin played in one of his best games of the season last Friday. The 23-year-old Mexican provided both of the assists for Moreno's goals, and although he didn't impress in his short time with the national team, it will be interesting to see how he develops with Los Xolos.

10. Jose Abella, DF, Santos Laguna

Abella was superb in Sunday's 3-0 win over Chivas. The 21-year-old had few problems defensively and scored a beautiful header in the 51st minute. Keep an eye on the youngster, who has been a key player for Santos Laguna since 2013.
