Petr Cech has countered Jose Mourinho’s claims that Chelsea’s defending in the 3-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain was “a joke” by saying the Blues were “unlucky”.

Cech was beaten at his near post by Javier Pastore for PSG’s third goal, while David Luiz put through his own net for the Ligue 1 side’s second.
But the experienced goalkeeper did not join his manager in accepting his side’s defensive effort was below-par in Paris.
“Sometimes that is the way it is,” he told Chelsea’s official website. “You need to control every detail and we were a bit unlucky. The second goal goes through about 15 people and nobody touches it and then it hits David Luiz and goes in.
“It was one of those games, but the most disappointing was the last goal because we were all there, ready, and Pastore managed to go through from there and managed to squeeze it through me as well.
“We had a bad start but once we got the [equalising] goal we had the much better of the game. We played in their half and we were dangerous.
“They had a few moments when they were pressuring us but not many, and there were not many big problems but every time they did manage to get forward they were dangerous, and unfortunately they managed to score goals and that made a big difference.”
Cech insists Chelsea can bounce back from their two goal first leg deficit, as he as outlined a route that could see Mourinho’s men claim a place in the semifinals.
“Win 2-0 and you are through so you have to make sure you don’t concede at home and take all your chances to score goals and then you can progress,” he added.
“We have put ourselves in a difficult position but while everything is still possible we cannot say the tie is done. It is not 6-0 or 4-1 or 5-1. A 2-0 is possible to win the game at home and it is up to us.”
