Liverpool are considering a summer move for Cardiff's Steven Caulker as manager Brendan Rodgers seeks to improve his defence for next season, sources have told ESPN FC.

England international Caulker is among several potential transfer targets identified by Rodgers and his recruitment team.
The 22-year-old only moved to Cardiff from Tottenham last July in an eight million pound deal, but is expected to leave following their relegation.
Caulker has played for Rodgers at Swansea, where he spent the 2011-12 season on loan from Spurs.
The Reds are also interested in signing Southampton captain Adam Lallana, despite the midfielder stating in his club's match programme on Sunday that he could stay at St Mary's Stadium.
Rodgers said on Friday that his priority next season was to improve Liverpool's defensive record away from home.
Apart from the three teams relegated, only Stoke City and Sunderland conceded more than the 32 Premier League goals that the Reds let in on their travels this season.
Despite finishing second, Liverpool had the division's eighth-best defensive record overall, conceding 50 league goals in total, 13 more than champions Manchester City.
