Norwich chief executive David McNally has offered his resignation, according to a post on his Twitter feed.
McNally, who has been in position since 2009, replied to a fan who called on him to leave the club following Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The user blamed a lack of investment for the Canaries' current predicament -- four points from safety with two to play and apparently heading back to the Championship -- and led to a surprisingly honest response.

A strong ally of co-owner Delia Smith, McNally arrived at Carrow Road from Fulham having previously spent four years as sales and marketing director at Celtic.
