Beauvue brace lifts Guingamp

Guingamp moved up to 12th in the Ligue 1 standings on Saturday evening courtesy of a 3-2 triumph over Lorient at the Stade du Roudourou.Claudio Beauvue put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute and Christophe Mandanne doubled their advantage midway through the second half, with Beauvue then swiftly restoring the two-goal cushion through a 76th-minute penalty after Benjamin Jeannot had pulled one back with a spot-kick of his own.Guingamp did their best to self-destruct in the closing stages, with Younousse Sankhare sent off and Dorian Leveque scoring a stoppage-time own goal, but they held on for the win.It could all have been different had the visitors capitalised on the first real chance of the game, but Guingamp goalkeeper Jonas Lossl made a fine double save in the fourth minute - first from Mathias Autret and then Gianni Bruno. The home team went ahead quarter of an hour later, Beauvue latching onto Mandanne's pass and lashing into the top corner. The same pair linked up again on the stroke of half-time and this time it was Mandanne who got the shot away, but Benjamin Lecomte fisted his angled attempt away to safety.Lecomte was again alert on the hour, getting down well to save Mandanne's low right-footed snap-shot.The home fans did have a second goal to celebrate soon after, though, as Sankhare burst past two defenders and teed up Mandanne to slot the ball between Lecomte's legs.Jeannot gave his side hope from the penalty spot moments later, firing low to Lossl's right after being fouled by Jeremy Sorbon. But any hopes of a comeback were quickly snuffed out as Guingamp were also awarded a spot-kick. Wesley Lautoa brought down Mandanne, and Beauvue saw Lecomte dive early and coolly chipped home from 12 yards.A second yellow card for Sankhare 11 minutes from time - for time-wasting on his way off as he was substituted - made things trickier than they needed to be for Guingamp, and Leveque deflecting Valentin Lavigne's cross into his own net in the 92nd minute did not help either, but the 10 men stood firm.
