Carlos Eduardo stars in Nice win

Nice recorded just a second league win in three months as they shook off their goalscoring woes to beat Lorient 3-1.With their only other win since October coming against bottom side Caen, and having failed to score in five of their last seven games, Nice will have been cautious against struggling Lorient. But Carlos Eduardo took charge to ensure they did not falter, scoring twice and winning the penalty which allowed them to level after Benjamin Jeannot had put the visitors ahead. It means Lorient have lost four of their last five on the road, but they started well, scoring after seven minutes when Jeannot connected with Mehdi Mostefa's header across goal with an acrobatic volley that beat Mouez Hassen.Nice hit back with Carlos Eduardo and Valentin Eysseric giving keeper Benjamin Lecomte a fright, before a 29th-minute equaliser came from the spot, with Bautheac scoring after Maxime Barthelme dragged down Carlos Eduardo.Carlos Eduardo was running riot and was brilliantly denied by Lecomte as half-time approached, and it was he who put the home side ahead on the hour.He played a one-two with Alassane Plea, with the latter crossing for Carlos Eduardo who headed in.And he added a third six minutes later, Plea nodding down on the penalty spot and Carlos Eduardo arriving to slam in a volley which sealed the deal.Lorient sit just a point above the drop zone as a result, while Nice remain firmly in mid-table.
