Nice 1-0 Lille

Lille suffered their first Ligue 1 defeat of the season as Mathieu Bodmer's header condemned them to a 1-0 reverse at Nice.Bodmer converted from a Valentin Eysseric corner four minutes before the break to steer his team to what was their third win of the campaign.Simon Kjaer looked to make an early breakthrough for Lille in the 10th minute direct from a free-kick, but unlike in the Europa League draw against Krasnodar, he could not send the effort in, this time failing to test goalkeeper Mouez Hassen. The hosts' first chance came eight minutes later, Eysseric getting on the end of long ball into the area and his half-volley from an acute angle being gathered by Vincent Enyeama.Hassen was called into action in the 24th minute, pushing away a well-struck shot from Sebastien Corchia with both hands. But it was Nice who then made the breakthrough as Eysseric swung a corner in from the left and Bodmer rose above Kjaer to score from six yards.Within moments, Carlos Eduardo missed a great chance to add a second for the the home side, breaking free of the Lille defence but, with Enyeama to beat, poking the ball wide of the post.Lille were wasteful five minutes into the second half on the counter attack, with Ronny Rodelin unmarked in front of goal but Nolan Roux's cutback for him lacked accuracy and let Nice off the hook.Alexy Bosetti and Carlos Eduardo then combined in midfield before the latter tried a speculative effort that flew some way wide of the target. It had been a fairly quiet opening to the second period and Eysseric tried to inject some urgency into proceedings just after the hour but could only fire wildly over the bar with a 20-yard attempt.Lille were showing little urgency in their quest for an equaliser and with 20 minutes to go, and they might have conceded again, David Rozehnal doing superbly to recover and cut out Bosetti's delivery with Corchia lurking unmarked inside the area.ends
