Nice 1-0 Metz

A dreadful error from Metz defender Guido Milan deep into stoppage time gifted Nice a 1-0 victory on Saturday. The hosts were desperate for a win having seen early momentum halted by consecutive defeats before the international break but although they got one, it was only thanks to a misplaced backpass from Milan which allowed Alexy Bosetti to score four minutes into time added on. Nice had perhaps shaded the match but the final result felt harsh on newly-promoted Metz who had a number of chances of their own. Indeed, they were the first to threaten with Nice goalkeeper misjudging Yeni Ngbakoto's cross-cum-shot from the left before Mathieu Bodmer hooked it off the line.Nice responded immediately as Souleymane Diawara charged forward before picking out Dario Cvitanich who saw his shot crash back off the crossbar.Cvitanich then turned provider, crossing for Carlos Eduardo who saw his shot blocked by Johan Carrasso. The first half ended with Metz back on the attack, and Nice goalkeeper Mouez Hassen was called upon to keep Guirane N'Daw's curling free-kick out of the net.Hassen was busy again four minutes into the second half, clawing Modibo Maiga's header off the line as Nice got off to another slow start.Nice picked it up late on, with Eric Bautheac's free-kick bringing a decent save out of David Oberhauser before Diawara headed over, but the twist was to come in the tail. There seemed little danger, but Milan misplayed his backpass and Bosetti swooped to lift the ball over the goalkeeper and steal all three points. ends
