Sporting KC blitz FC Dallas with three second-half goals
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Benny Feilhaber scored twice, Dominic Dwyer added a goal in the 83rd minute and Sporting Kansas City beat FC Dallas 3-1 on Friday night to snap a five-game winless streak.
Sporting KC moved into fourth place in the Western Conference. FC Dallas had its three-game winning streak stopped.
Feilhaber opened the scoring in the 65th minute on a free kick. He curled a ball around the wall that went off the post and in. Feilhaber used a stutter step to score on a penalty kick in the 76th. Dwyer drew the penalty on goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez while battling for a loose ball.
Dallas pulled to 2-1 in the 80th on Victor Ulloa's shot from distance.
Three minutes later, Dwyer smashed a shot between two defenders into the upper right corner.
Sporting KC goalkeeper Jon Kempin made his second start of the season.
