Colorado Rapids earn first MLS win beating FC Dallas

FRISCO, Texas -- Dillon Powers had a goal and an assist and Colorado beat FC Dallas 4-0 on Friday night to end the Rapids' 18-game winless streak.

Colorado avoided setting a MLS record for the most-consecutive matches without a victory.

Dominique Badji scored in the second minute to end Colorado's scoreless drought at 601 minutes. It was the Rapids' first goal since October 11, 2014. Powers curled in a cross between two Dallas defenders and Badji redirected it for his first MLS goal.

Powers made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute. Colorado (1-1-3) caught FC Dallas (3-2-1) by surprise with a quick restart on a free kick. Powers dribbled into the corner of the 18-yard box and rolled in a goal from a difficult angle.

Gabriel Torres and Dillon Serna scored in the second half. Clint Irwin recorded his fourth clean sheet in five games.
