Angers edge out Troyes with Thomas Mangani penalty

Ten-man Angers continued their impressive start to life in Ligue 1 with a slender 1-0 win over Troyes in what was the first encounter between the two sides in the top division.Any hopes of a third league win for the hosts seemed to be squandered when, with just over half an hour played, skipper Cheikh Ndoye was given his marching orders for a tackle not too dissimilar to a karate kick.Angers stood firm, though, and when Loosemy Karaboue brought down Romain Thomas in the area, the newly-promoted side were gifted a chance to score from the penalty spot.Thomas Mangani took charge and duly dispatched the spot-kick beyond Denis Petric to send Stephane Moulin's men up to fifth in the Ligue 1 table.
