Majeed Waris seals victory for rock-bottom Lorient over Rennes
Majeed Waris' early second-half goal proved enough to give bottom club Lorient a much-needed 2-1 win over Rennes in the Brittany derby at Le Moustoir.
Lorient had not won in Ligue 1 since the end of September, with Bernard Casoni now in charge.
The home side took the lead on 28 minutes with a header from defender Michael Ciani at a corner.
However, the advantage was soon cancelled out when Giovanni Sio punished a poor defensive pass to equalise in the 32nd minute.
Lorient, though, went on to claim all three points after Ghana forward Waris slotted home from close range just a minute into the second half.
