Eder on the money to help Lille beat Nancy

Eder's second-half penalty proved enough for a much-needed three points as Lille halted a four-match losing streak with a narrow 1-0 victory over fellow Ligue 1 strugglers Nancy at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

After an uneventful first half, Rony Lopes was brought down by a foul from Michael Chretien after 75 minutes and Portugal striker Eder stepped up and beat goalkeeper Guy N'Dy Assembe from the spot as he fired into the top corner.

In what was a battle of the bottom two teams in the French top flight, Les Dogues, who began the day holding up the standings, saw their opponents drop down into the last position as they leapfrogged Nancy into 18th.
