2016/2017 German Bundesliga
- Izet Hajrovic - 12'
- Yunus Malli - 87'
- Pablo de Blasis - 90'+2'
Werder Bremen 1-2 Mainz
Werder Bremen were denied their first point of the Bundesliga season as Pablo de Blasis headed home late on to give Mainz a 2-1 win at the Weserstadion.
Izet Hajrovic netted a 12th-minute opener for Bremen, who had caretaker coach Alexander Nouri on their bench following Viktor Skripnik's dismissal at the weekend.
The northern Germany side held onto that lead until the 87th minute, when Yunus Malli denied them victory.
Worse was to follow, though, as De Blasis headed in Gerrit Holtmann's cross to earn Mainz all three points and take them up to seventh, leaving Bremen empty-handed once again and with no points from their first four games of the season.
