LAFC produces record-setting 6-0 rout of Vancouver Whitecaps
Bradley Wright-Phillips scored twice in the first 11 minutes as Los Angeles FC rolled to a 6-0 win over the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday.
The rout was on early, as Los Angeles (5-5-3, 18 points) built a 4-0 lead in just 14 minutes and then a 5-0 lead through 33 minutes. LAFC set MLS records for the quickest four and five goals in league history.
Dejan Jakovic and Diego Rossi scored for Los Angeles FC, who moved above the playoff line and into sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Vancouver's Ranko Veselinovic and Andy Rose each scored own goals, adding to an overall nightmarish performance for the Whitecaps (5-8-0, 15 points). The result tied the biggest losing margin in Whitecaps history, a 6-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City on April 20, 2018.
Whitecaps goalkeeper Bryan Meredith didn't receive much defensive help in his team debut. Starting in place of injured regular keeper Thomas Hasal, Meredith made seven saves in only his second MLS game since the start of the 2013 season. He previously was with the Seattle Sounders and the San Jose Earthquakes.
LAFC goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega earned first career shutout without needing to make a single save.
Jakovic opened the scoring in the second minute, heading in a corner kick for the fastest goal in LAFC franchise history.
Wright-Phillips added to the lead in the fifth minute and then struck again on a partial bicycle kick in the 11th. The striker now has seven goals this season after his first multi-goal game in just over two years.
Los Angeles FC leads all MLS teams in goals scored (31), and Wednesday's game continued the team's habit of all-or-nothing scoring outbursts. Los Angeles is 3-5-0 over its past eight games, scoring 15 combined goals in the three wins but only one goal total in the five losses.
Star midfielder Eduard Atuesta made his first start for Los Angeles since July 23. A foot injury sidelined Atuesta for five games and limited him to substitute duty in LAFC's past two games before Wednesday.
