United States international Weston McKennie is set for a major spell on the sidelines, his Bundesliga club Schalke announced on Tuesday.
The midfielder fell awkwardly on his shoulder in the 10th minute of Sunday's match against Eintracht Frankfurt and was stretchered off the field.
David Wagner has confirmed that @WMckennie will be out of action until February 😢

Following further examinations McKennie has been ruled out until at least February after an MRI showed he had a shoulder dislocation in addition to "further damage to the shoulder."
McKennie joined Schalke's academy in August 2016 and has become a mainstay for the Royal Blues ever since his senior team debut late in the 2016-2017 season.
He has featured in 13 Bundesliga games this season for the club, who have been one of this year's surprise packages in Germany's top tier.
