Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe joins Aston Villa on loan

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan until the end of the season.

The versatile 20-year-old goes straight into the squad for Villa's next match against Sheffield United on Tuesday.

Tuanzebe made his first-team debut at Old Trafford in a 4-0 FA Cup victory over Wigan in January 2017. He started four Premier League matches towards the end of the 2017-18 campaign, including the defeats to Arsenal and Tottenham.

The England under-21 international has played three times under Jose Mourinho this season, with his most recent appearance coming in the 2-0 win at Everton on New Year's Day.

"I am delighted to be here," Tuanzebe told Aston Villa's official website. "It's an exciting time at this football club and everyone is pushing for promotion - that's the big aim, you can feel that here.

"I am determined to help this club achieve its goal."

Tuanzebe will line up alongside former Chelsea captain John Terry in the Villa defence as Steve Bruce's side battle to win promotion from the Championship.
