Dani Alves slams Barcelona board but no exit confirmed; rules out PSG move

Dani Alves has criticised Barcelona's board by declaring he has "one foot, half a body and almost my head" out of the club after being made a "scapegoat," but says no decision will be made ahead of the club's potential Treble triumph.

Alves, 32, has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou with his current contract expiring this summer, while the player rejected a "final" new deal in April.

The Brazil international has ruled out a move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, but says he will wait until after the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals on May 30 and June 6 respectively before deciding his future.

When asked if he will remain with Luis Enrique's La Liga champions next term, the right-back told a news conference on Monday: "That remains to be seen. We've got too many beautiful things to do before thinking about anything else.

"I'm under contract until June 30 and for all of the people who appreciate me and for respect for the club, the only thing on my mind right now is doing the best I can in the two finals which are coming up.

"I'll continue to defend the Barca shirt, as I always have done, until June 7; after that I will let you know my decision but while I am under contract, I am a Barca player."

Asked whether PSG was a potential destination, the defender -- who has won five La Liga titles at Barca and could lift a third Champions League trophy this month -- replied "no," and said of a move elsewhere: "I don't want to think any further ahead than now because it will only distract me.

"I have options which I will consider but the decision has to wait until after the Champions League final.

"I have come out to talk today about a lack of respect towards me and like anyone else, I have my limits. I don't want to have to talk about these things because I prefer to do my talking out on the pitch.

"But there has been a lot of rubbish written which I have been forced to put up with and when push comes to shove, I have to come out and defend myself, and say what I have to say. I am with the team 200 percent but with the board, about 10 percent -- as it is, I have one foot, half a body and almost my head out of the club.

"Others can say that if they want. I don't think about money, all I am asking for is respect for the job I do like any other professional.

"I've spent the whole season hearing that I was going to be offloaded; my contract expires on the 30th of next month. What I cannot abide is when everything I have done during all of my time at this club is devalued -- more than what a few people inside the club might think about me."

The defender believes the club have shown him a lack of respect, continuing: "I don't think some people acknowledge the work I have put in at this club and if that's the case, decisions have to be made.

"I cannot come here and selfishly cause a big scene. I'm mature enough and intelligent enough not to do that before an important cup final. I'm not going to hold the club to ransom.

"I want to stay, but not at any price -- it's not about money, it's about respect. I've done a lot for this club and yet I can tell that I am not respected."

Alves revealed his situation at the club has not changed since summer, saying: "The club decided that they wanted me to continue three months ago -- maybe because my performances have improved but I have been here for seven years.

"I always try to find a balance in my performances. I'd like to be a seven or an eight, I'm not looking to be 10 out of 10. You have good days and bad days. But when you lose there's always a need to find a scapegoat and I'm that lucky man.

"I'm trying to understand why some people don't value me, or think I'm a moron. I don't understand it. I know that I am a difficult person because I am direct and sincere but there are some people who are not prepared to accept that. I have my own personality -- take it or leave it."

The defender has also been hurt by the Barcelona's belated attempts to keep him after the club was handed a transfer ban by FIFA until January 2016.

He added: "Six months ago they didn't want to renew my contract, then FIFA hit them with a transfer ban and now they do want me to renew. But not at any price. I value myself more than that.

"I have never considered myself to be indispensable. Luis Enrique doesn't include me in the team for being handsome -- he could, but I work very hard to earn my place."
