Expectations are always high in Spokane, but when an ESPN analyst says the current Bulldogs roster is "the most talented team in Gonzaga history" and every poll has the Bulldogs as the heavy West Coast Conference favorites, this season appears different.
Mark Few can only laugh at that claim.
"Everybody wants to say this and say that, but they haven't done anything," the nation's winningest active head coach (80.1 percent) said. "At this point I'd say [the roster] looks to have as much depth as we've had, but there may have been another team or two that compares. We've had teams with multiple pros on them, and really athletic and skilled. We're not at the point where we can compare this team to any of those."
