BANGOR, Maine -- — Peter Filipovity scored 21 points as Maine beat NJIT 68-58 on Saturday.
Filipovity also contributed seven rebounds for the Black Bears (13-15, 5-8 America East Conference). Quion Burns finished 5 of 6 from the field to add 13 points. Jaden Clayton had 12 points and was 2 of 7 shooting, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 7 for 8 from the line.
Tariq Francis led the way for the Highlanders (7-19, 3-11) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Elijah Buchanan added 16 points and two steals for NJIT. In addition, Mekhi Gray finished with nine points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Both teams play on Thursday. Maine visits Binghamton and NJIT hosts UMBC.
