Collingwood Magpies' hopes of a Super Netball finals campaign have suffered a big blow with with midcourt star Kelsey Browne ruled out for the rest of their season.

Scans have confirmed vice-captain Browne suffered a ruptured ACL during Saturday's win over the NSW Swifts.

She will be a major loss as she was having an outstanding season and was also involved in Australia's World Cup silver medal campaign in England.

With one game remaining in the regular season, the Magpies sit fifth, one point behind the Sydney-based Giants and needing to break into the top four to contest the finals.

They face their cross-town rivals, the third-placed Melbourne Vixens, in the final match on Sunday, and the Giants are at home to the sixth-placed West Coast fever on Saturday.

"We're all very disappointed for Kelsey, who has had a stand-out season this year," said Collingwood women's sport manager Jane Woodlands-Thompson.

"To remain at the game afterwards, supporting her teammates on the sideline, reflects the strong leader and selfless teammate that Kelsey is."

The Adelaide Thunderbirds have also confirmed the worst for shooter Sasha Glasgow, who was taken from the court during their loss to the Giants on Sunday.

Scans on Monday morning confirmed she had ruptured her ACL in her left knee after landing awkwardly.

Glasgow and Browne are now the fifth and sixth players this season to have suffered the season-ending injury.

"We are devastated for Sasha about the confirmation of her ACL injury,"Thunderbirds coach Tania Obst said in a statement. "We will ensure she has the best care possible moving forward and will support her through her rehabilitation.

"She has been a shining light for our team this year and we look forward to seeing her back out on the court in the future."

Fellow Thunderbirds shooter Emma Ryde is also facing an anxious wait as she has scans on her left knee after coming off the court in the third quarter.
