Toronto Blue Jays Team Report

Toronto took took the final game of their four-game series with
the Red Sox on Sunday, 3-1, getting them the series split. In a
matchup of two of the best pitchers in the American League, RH
Roy Halladay outdueled Pedro Martinez. Halladay, the reigning AL
Cy Young Award winner,tossed seven innings and struck out six
in earning the win. After giving up the lone earned run to the
Red Sox in the first inning, Halladay allowed just four Red Sox
baserunners to reach second base. Halladay is now an even 4-4 on
the year... 1B Carlos Delgado hit a two-run home run off of Red
Sox starter Pedro Martinez that provided the difference. The
long ball was the sixth of the season for Delgado, but his first
in two weeks... Prior to Sunday's game, Toronto had gone five
consecutive games, without going deep. The five game streak
marked their longest streak of the year without hitting a home
run... The Blue Jays are now 4-6 against the Red Sox on the
season. The two AL East rivals will play nine more times this
year. The Jays finish off a seven-game homestand with a
three-game series with the Twins.
