Match Commentary

81'It's been an absorbing match but France have seen it out. Lopez sends it out and France celebrate a hard-earned win. Scotland's Paris misery goes on, but they can be proud of that display, a lot of encouragement to be taken. A missed opportunity, though.
Stay tuned to ESPNscrum for the full match report and all the reaction

49'Lopez chips it over and Fife slips out of play on the touchline - then throws the ball away in frustration to concede a penalty. Oh Dougie! Lopez with the first score of the half - it's a four-point lead.
48'Tristan Barclay in Paris: "Benjamin Kayser warming up for and looks set to come of for France after just 6 minutes of the second half." Indeed, Guilhem Guirado is hooked.
Hogg overcooks his kick, and he knew it straight away - waste of a good attacking position
48'Player substituted - Guilhem Guirado , France
48'Substitute on - Benjamin Kayser , France
47'Scotland penalty - France faltering at the scrum, the second scrum penalty they've given away
46'France building here, Scotland pinch the loose ball, however. Arm goes up in their favour. Ref brings it back for the knock on. Blue ball at the scrum.
45'Bastareaud bouncing off the Scottish challenges through the middle - he really cleaned out Euan Murray there, which you don't see often
44'Safe hands in the lineout form France and they're making . Scotland steal the ball however, Cowan clears to Lopez. Bastareaud bursts down the line and offloads to Thomoas but Russell covers the little chip well

39'Hogg with a great charge, one-two with Visser. He looks like the dangerman here. Scotland into the French 22. Hogg just short of the line, but Dunbar is over, the ball isn't! Two men over out wide, Dougie Fife with the TRY!

37'Kick is good from Lopez and France extend their lead to 9-3
36'Lobbed over to Thomas but Fife stands tall. France building here, scrum advantage and penalty advantage int he end, offside Scotland.
Tristan Barclay: "The French crowd did not like Alasdair Dickinson's tackle on Rory Kockott there. The scrum-half was nearly away but Dickinson took him out seconds after he released the ball. Nigel Owens copping some flak for that."
35'Penalty to Scotland - Russell kicks it into touch just before the halfway. Short lineout, Russell onto Bennett but spilled and turned over
34'Great stuff from Visser to get his hands on that. Lineout for Scotland
33'Lineout on the 22 for France. Here comes Huget. Scotland holding out well. No drop goal attempt but Huget can't collect it from Huget - he would've been in

30'Drive from France, but there's a turnover - Dunbar kicks it wide for Hogg. Penalty says Nigel Owens - illegally scooped back after a bundle for the ball
29'Scotland coming back, though, and they're inching forward. Bastareaud snatches it though and Lopez goes long into the Scottish 22
27'Hogg with a great shimmy and Scotland within striking distance. French defence holding up, though. Russell goes for the drop goal and it's a big ol' shank. Wasted opportunity - pulled the trigger a bit too early on the drop attempt, seems like they should have kept going through the phases
26'Bennett down the outside, great charge towards the 22
25'Hogg wide from 65 metres - distance was fine but not the line
24'Lopez pops it over but Laidlaw has it. Blue penalty - Stuart Hogg is going to have a go from over 50 metres
23'Lopez clears into touch, but a quick lineout from Scotland.
22'Lineout is good for Scotland. Bennett makes ground but goes into touch at the halfway, good outside break
21'Ref blows up for a red penalty, holding on - however his touch judge is telling him to turn it around for offside. Good boot up to the 10 metre line as Scotland clear again

19'Lopez chip in but Russell reads it well and watches it out. Blue ball but deep inside their 22. Safe linout
18'Tommy Seymour has had to go off after that earlier knock - Dougie Fife is on and was straight awya looking for the interception, but Scotland's defence being tested now.
17'Lopez lining up another one here to make it 6-3. No problems.
Tristan Barclay: "They love their attacking rugby on this side of the Channel - every half-break, every attempted offload is greeted with an ear-busting roar from the crowd. Hate to think what the sound will be like if they manage to score a try."
17'Substitute on - Dougie Fife , Scotland
17'Player substituted - Tommy Seymour , Scotland
17'6-3 Penalty goal - Camille Lopez , France
16'Advantage to France here, and with the fumble the ref comes back for the penalty

14'3-3 Penalty goal - Greig Laidlaw , Scotland
13'Laidlaw with the kick and it's all level here. Deserved from Scotland - they've recovered well from their early stutter
12'Turnover here - blue ball. Great tackle from Harley. Blue put in, ref unhappy though as he blows up. Laidlaw puts it in again, and it's a penalty to Scotland. Dusautoir unhappy, but Nigel Owens ran out of patience, France pulling the scrum down
11'France 56% of possession. Scrum goes down but Spedding thumps it clear to Hogg, who boots it back high
10'Round the scrum goes, Scotland didn't get the ball.
Tristan Barclay: "France have had the lion's share of the ball in the opening minutes but it's been fairly even as a contest. Tommy Seymour is taking a few moments to recover from a heavy collision - hoping we don't have another concussion debate on our hands come tomorrow morning."
9'Finn Russell with the break - certainly doesn't look like a weak link. Seymour back on his feet. Great stuff from Russell there, dragging red shirts with him - he's put France on notice there
8'Lineout at halfway won cleanly by Scotland, Seymour bursts through the middle. He's stayed down however and is being treated in the middle of the field
7'France getting plenty of the ball in the opening minutes, but Finn Russell clears for Scotland. Spedding kicks into touch

5'It's cleared by France as the Stade de France gives voice to Allez les Blues
4'France have a penalty again - Richie Gray with a stupid tackle.
3'Not a great start for Scotland, Russell gets them underway again. Taken down nicely by France. Inch perfect kick from Russell and Scotland look to put pressure on at the lineout
3'3-0 Penalty goal - Camille Lopez , France
2'Nigel Owens blasts his whistle and penalty goes to France. Cowan goes down on it, and he's holding on there. From a turnover in the lineout, France have the first chance to score in the game. Just in off the upright! Lopez gives himself a little clap.
1'We're underway! Scotland clear into touch and we'll have our first lineout. Atmosphere is electric
1'Hello all, ESPNscrum's live coverage of the Six Nations continues as France host Scotland in Saturday's second match.
Scotland spent most of last season's Six Nations on the wrong end of the scoreline - including a 20-0 drubbing by England in their own back yard. But they put up a good fight against France, going down to a last-minute penalty. Can they go one better this time?
"Scotland will win here again some day, whether it is today or not we will have to wait and see," Vern Cotter tells BBC Sport. "But we are going to give it our best shot."
ESPN's Tristan Barclay in Paris: "Conversation with the French press in the build-up to this evening's clash wasn't particularly useful in terms of working out who they thought would win. Questions about a potential result were greeted with plenty of puffed cheeks and shrugged shoulders - that old unpredictability just won't go away.
"Paris is a city still very much recovering from the terrorist atrocities of last month, but the atmosphere inside the Stade de France is one of genuine excitement ahead of the game rather than fear or agitation. There are plenty of armed police officers patrolling outside the stadium, but it's far from an oppressive presence."
Teams coming out now - here we go! No fancy X-Factor/Wrestlemania fireworks like last night in Cardiff, unfortunately. Anthems time - Flower of Scotland first up, with plenty of bagpipe.
Tristan Barclay: "The smile on Stuart Hogg's face during Flower of Scotland told a story - there is a newfound optimism in this squad and they genuinely believe they have a side that can do the business here. "Thierry Dusautoir looked like he was about to eat the cameraman during the French anthem - there is a lot of passion in the Stade de France today."
