71'Barrett's penalty is wide, we are still locked up!

68'Scrum New Zealand. As the rain starts to come down in Wellington, the All Blacks have a centre-field scrum 43 metres out from the Wallabies' line. Australia were unable to clear backdownfield after taking a quick lineout from Jordie Barrett's excellent clearance.

52'Substitute on - Allan Alaalatoa , Australia
52'Player substituted - Taniela Tupou , Australia
51'After a succession of scrum resets the All Blacks make a break downfield, before the Wallabies win a turnover. The Australians then threaten themselves downfield, with Hunter Paisami making a nice little kick that forces Damian Mckenzie into a rushed kick into touch.
48'Free kick NZ. The Wallabies give up another scrum infringement. The front-row's timing is badly out at the moment.
46'Scrum Australia. This time it's the All Blacks who struggle in the Wellington wind, Codie Taylor's lineout throw is slightly off and a knock-on is the result.
45'Jordie Barrett can't land the conversion from wide out, though, the All Blacks leading 13-3 just five minutes into the second half.
44'Try time New Zealand! That's how it happens, they are so good at stinging you after absorbing pressure. Aaron Smith finishes off a smart lineout move, the No. 9 just wins the race to the corner after shaking off the tackle of Nic White and then surviving one last effort from Michael Hooper.
44'13-3 Try - Aaron Smith , New Zealand
43'Penalty NZ. Taniela Tupou continues his inaccuracy at the breakdown.
42'James O'Connor can't land the penalty though, that is a bad miss from the Wallabies No. 10.

41'
41'Overturned! The Wallabies get a reprieve as Rieko Ioane is ruled to have dropped the ball in touching it down. What a huge escape for the Wallabies! And that's halftime in Wellington. A gripping first half where the Wallabies dominated possession and territory, but the All Blacks showed how dangerous they can be on the counter.

40'8-3 Start of second half
37'Penalty New Zealand. The Wallabies continue to be found at the breakdown as this time Sam Whitelock wins a penalty for getting over the ball. But the All Blacks butcher the kick for line, trying to chew off too much ground and the ball rolls dead. So it's the Wallabies' ball just 30 metres out from the Wallabies' line.
35'Penalty New Zealand. Nic White goes one too many times from the ruck as Sam Cane gets on the ball to win the call from Paul Williams. Again, the All Blacks were able to derail the rolling maul.

30'The All Blacks' defensive lineout is too strong and they force the Wallabies to move the ball. But the Wallabies get their second penalty almost straight away as Sam Cane is penalised for not releasing the tackled player.
29'Penalty Australia. Referee Paul Williams awards Australia their first penalty of the afternoon for a no-arms tackle. The Wallabies kick to the corner and will surely look to drive this maul over, but they will need to win the lineout first.
27'Barrett knocks over the simple penalty and its the All Blacks leading 8-0 after 27 minutes. The hosts are coming away with points when they get down into Australia's 22, the Wallabies haven't found a way to do that themselves yet.
27'8-0 Penalty goal - Jordie Barrett , New Zealand
25'Penalty New Zealand. Paul Williams pings Australia for offside after Ardie Savea is held up over the line. But the real problem is Australia's lineout, which is an absolute mess at the moment.
24'A good opportunity for the All Blacks to apply more set-piece pressure and they do as the Wallabies overthrow inside their own 22. All Blacks onto the attack.
23'The set-piece woes continue for the Wallabies with Folau Fainga'a pinged for a lineout throw that isn't straight. The Wallabies can't afford errors like that.
21'So close from the Wallabies! Matt Philip runs to within an metre of the line after a nice break from Nic White, only for Damian McKenzie to win the penalty with a beautiful position over the ball.
19'Scrum Australia. This is an excellent attacking opportunity for the Wallabies after Jack Goodhue rips the ball from Taniela Tupou, but in doing so loses if forward. Australia have a centre-field scrum from just inside the All Blacks' 22.
18'A nice kick from Matt Toomua pins the All Blacks in the corner. The Wallabies are showing some promising signs, but the All Blacks defence is holding firm so far.
16'Free kick New Zealand. That's poor from the Wallabies, they can't even get the first set right.
15'A quarter of an hour gone and we have the first scrum. The Wallabies lineout has been struggling, so it will be interesting to see how the scrum holds up.
13'Matt Toomua shuts the All Blacks down with a huge hit on Richie Mo'unga before the Wallabies hand the ball back. Aaron Smith tries to catch the Wallabies out with a cheeky kick that Daugunu cleans up.
12'Penalty New Zealand. Marika Koroibete is penalised for incorrect entry into ruck, giving New Zealand the chance to kick deep to the 22 and attack from a lineout.
10'Barrett can't convert his own try, but the All Blacks will be happy with that result after absorbing some early pressure from the Wallabies.
9'Try time New Zealand! Jordie Barrett has this afternoon's first five-pointer, the winger finishing off a nice counter attack that was started through Rieko Ioane. Quick hands spread the ball nicely through the hands, Shannon Frizell throwing the final pass to Barrett who had too much speed for Marika Koroibete to win the race to the corner.
9'5-0 Try - Jordie Barrett , New Zealand
8'Lineout New Zealand. The All Blacks are able to clear through Aaron Smith after some more promising Wallabies build-up. The All Blacks are able to pinch the lineout ball though and clear further downfield.
6'Daugunu continues to worry the All Blacks. The Wallabies move the ball to the right and the winger cuts back infield, but the play breaks down as Hunter Paisami pushed an offload and the All Blacks look to counter through Rieko Ioane. Jordie Barrett is just forced into touch just as they start to threaten though.
4'New Zealand can't do anything with the ball before the Wallabies claim a kick and head downfield. Filipo Daugunu makes a break down the tight touchline but can't find Harry Wilson with the offload. Still, promising signs for Australia.
2'Penalty New Zealand. Australia string some solid phases together but really don't trouble the hosts, Ardie Savea then getting on the ball to win the turnover and penalty from Williams.
1'And we're underway, Kiwi referee blows his whistle and the Wallabies kick off down to Jack Goodhue who just catches the ball. Richie Mo'unga clears into touch and the Wallabies will have some field position from the outset.
1'Woah, that was special, the energy from that haka was that of an All Blacks side who hasn't performed one in almost 12 months. Yep, story checks out!
1'Anthems done, now time for the haka, led as usual by TJ Perenara.
1'And here comes the All Blacks, led out by new skipper Sam Cane for the first time.
1'The Wallabies are on the field, led out by Hooper who gets a warm reception from the crowd. There is a smattering of gold in the stadium, despite the border closures!
1'Getting close, both teams completing their warm-ups.
1'Congrats to Wallabies skipper Michael Hooper, who becomes the youngest Australia to play 100 Tests this afternoon.
1'The All Blacks yesterday scratched Beauden Barrett from their run-on team, with Damian McKenzie coming straight into the starting side. Barrett has an Achilles injury but it isn't overly bad and he should return for Game 2 in Auckland next week. New Zealand then lost Nepo Laulala from the bench this morning with Tyrel Lomax coming into the 23. The Wallabies are as per program, with Harry Wilson, Hunter Paisami and Filipo Daugunu all making their Test debuts.
1'Hello and welcome to ESPN's live commentary of the opening Bledisloe Cup Test from Wellington, New Zealand. Sam Bruce in the chair for the match, in what is the first international rugby Test anywhere in the world since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. But we're here, at last! This promises to be an intriguing encounter with both the All Blacks and Wallabies commencing new eras under new coaches, though the hosts will start red-hot favourites for this one given the continuity in their coaching and make-up of their squad. Stay tuned as we bring you all the build-up to kick-off, which is just on 30 minutes away.
