Reigning World and Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt has confirmed that he will return to London's Olympic Stadium to participate in Sainsbury's Anniversary Games.

The Jamaican, now 28, and record holder in both the 100m and 200m, has not competed in the UK since the 2013 edition of the Anniversary Games in Stratford.

Bolt has previously cited objections to the UK's strict taxation laws on athletes as the reason why he has failed to return to the country where he won the Olympic sprint double in 2012 on a regular basis.

Chancellor George Osborne has temporarily lifted the law for those competing at the Diamond League event running from July 24-26, in an attempt to attract a world class field.

With this barrier lifted Bolt is now eagerly anticipating a return to the track where he has enjoyed so much success.

''London is a special place where I love to compete and I am looking forward to the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games on July 24," he said.
