New England Patriots' Black Friday shopping list includes gray hoodie with cut sleeves

It's never too late to send out those thank-you cards to Judge Richard Berman. Mark L. Baer/Mark L. Baer/USA TODAY Sports

More thank-you notes, please. There was a sign at Gillette Stadium at the Sept. 10 season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers that said it all: Judge Berman for President. When Judge Richard M. Berman ruled in favor of quarterback Tom Brady in his fight against the NFL, overturning Brady’s four-game suspension, many in New England expressed their thanks. It’s never too late to send those thank-you notes.

An upgraded supply of a powerful antibiotic to combat the mysterious illness: Veteran offensive lineman Ryan Wendell missed three games to open the season with an illness and later landed on season-ending injured reserve. First-year defensive end Rufus Johnson got hit with a stomach virus that still has him on medication and landed him on the reserve/non-football injury list to end his season. And now starting linebacker Jamie Collins has missed the past three games with an undisclosed illness that reportedly had him unable to eat and having lost weight and strength. Three players affected this significantly by an illness in one season? That has never happened before in the Bill Belichick era (2000-present).

A gray hoodie with cut sleeves. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the most obvious item. Bill Belichick has made it a fashion statement in New England, accidentally so. Always a big seller on Black Friday.
