Teal Bunbury came off the bench to help the Revolution score a pair of second-half goals and give his squad a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union on Sunday at PPL Park.

Bunbury, who entered the match in the 61st minute, went on to set up Charlie Davies on a 64th-minute equalizer, then scored in the 76th minute on a Diego Fagundez cross.

Cristian Maidana opened the scoring in the 42nd minute on a sensational free kick he blasted into the back of the net from 30 yards.

With the win, the Revolution's record climbed to 3-2-2 (11 points). The Union's mark dropped to 1-4-3 (6 points).

What it means: It was a first half to forget for the Revolution, but they redeemed themselves after the interval thanks to a pair of timely substitutes. Once coach Jay Heaps introduced Bunbury and Chris Tierney into the match, the offense finally started to flow. Both players provided much-needed width, as seen on Bunbury's cross to Davies for the equalizer. Not long after Davies' goal, Diego Fagundez was brought on, and five minutes later, he assisted on Bunbury's winner. Fagundez was also a force on defense, and his efforts on the other side of ball allowed the Revolution to protect the lead against a hungry Union offense. For the locals, it was the kind of match that truly showcased the attacking depth the Revolution have at their disposal.

Stat of the match: Maidana's goal snapped the Revolution's shutout streak at 250 minutes. The last goal they conceded was Chris Wondolowski's penalty kick strike during the 62nd minute of the Revolution's 2-1 win over San Jose on March 28.

Jones gets first start at center back: Jermaine Jones, a central midfielder by trade, got his first look in the Revolution's central defense after injuries kept center backs Jose Goncalves (left calf strain) and Darrius Barnes (left knee sprain) from playing Sunday. The 33-year-old designated player had played some center back with the U.S. national team in recent months.

Woodberry plays: With fullback Kevin Alston filling in to start for an injured Tierney (left ankle sprain) at left back, defender London Woodberry earned his first start of the season, manning the right back spot. Woodberry, who last played in MLS with FC Dallas in June 2013, brought much-needed width along the right by sending a couple of dangerous crosses into the area.

Davies back in the XI: After coming off the bench in last week's match against Columbus, Davies returned to the lineup starting up top. In his last start, which came on April 4 at Colorado, he earned a second-half penalty kick to set up the Revolution's second goal in a 2-0 win. His 64th minute strike in Sunday's victory was his first goal of the season.

Salt Lake on tap: The Revolution will return to Gillette Stadium on Saturday to face Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. The last time the squads met, Salt Lake grabbed a 2-1 win over the Revolution on July 4 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
