• Arizona leads its series with UNLV 1-0, winning 38-21 in 2001.

• UNLV opened with a 51-23 loss at Minnesota. The Rebels actually outgained Minnesota 419 yards to 320 and rushed for a strong 193 yards.

• The Wildcats beat Northern Arizona 38-0 to open the season. It was the program's first opening day shutout since blanking Idaho 70-0 in 2008.

• Arizona All-American RB Ka'Deem Carey, who was suspended for the season-opener against Northern Arizona, is expected to make his season debut.

• California leads its series with Portland State 1-0, beating the Vikings 42-16 in 2006.

• In his first career start against Northwestern, Cal QB Jared Goff set a freshman record with 445 yards passing, the second-best overall total in school history behind 503 yards from Pat Barnes vs. Arizona in 1996, a four-overtime game. His 63 pass attempts were a school record.

• Cal ran 99 plays against Northwestern, third most in school history. The 2012 high was 79 at Ohio State. The school record is 102 plays, set in 1968 against San Jose State.

• This is Colorado's first meeting with Central Arkansas.

• The Buffaloes snapped an eight-game losing streak with their win over Colorado State on Sunday. QB Connor Wood completed 33 of 46 passes for 400 yards and three TDs against the Rams. His interception-free game with 46 attempts was the second best in Buffs history.

• Coach Mike MacIntyre joined Rick Neuheisel as the only two of Colorado's 15 head coaches since 1932 to win their debut game.

• Addison Gillam became just the second true freshman to start at inside linebacker for Colorado. He had 14 tackles and a sack in the win over Colorado State.

• Oregon racked up a school-record 772 total yards in its season-opening win over Nicholls State. The Ducks averaged 10.9 yards per play in the game, the most by any FBS team in Week 1 and the most by Oregon in a game over the last 10 seasons.

• Oregon’s offensive tempo was as fast as ever in Mark Helfrich’s debut as head coach. The Ducks ran one play per every 16 seconds, tied for their fastest pace in the last 10 seasons. They had eight touchdown drives that lasted two minutes or less, the most for any FBS team in Week 1. Seven of those eight drives were at least 60 yards long. Last season, Oregon had an FBS-high 45 touchdown drives that lasted two minutes or less and ran a play every 20 seconds, which was tied for the fifth-fastest pace.

• Saturday will mark the first ever meeting between Oregon and Virginia. The Ducks are just 2-5 against current members of the ACC all-time, but haven’t faced such an opponent since the 2002 Seattle Bowl vs Wake Forest (L, 38-17).

• Oregon QB Marcus Mariota had the second-highest Total QBR (97.7) of any FBS player in Week 1. It was his fourth game with a Total QBR of more than 95, tying Johnny Manziel and Taylor Kelly for the most such games during the past two seasons. Since the start of last season, Mariota has the second-best Total QBR behind only Manziel.

• Virginia has beaten just two AP top-five teams in its history and Florida State was the victim both times (1995, 2005). The Cavaliers have never beaten a current team from the Pac-12, going 0-3.

• Oregon State leads its series with Hawaii 5-3,with the Beavers winning the last meeting 45-7 in 2008.

• The Beavers have lost three of their past four season openers. In 2010 and 2011, they ended up with a losing record. In 2008 -- after an 0-2 start -- they finished 9-4.

• Beavers QB Sean Mannion completed 37 of 43 passes for 422 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Eastern Washington, while WR Brandin Cooks caught 13 passes for 196 yards and two scores.

• The big question for the Beavers: How will the defense respond after getting torn apart by the Eagles, who gained 625 total yards and 31 first downs, averaging 8.8 yards per play?

• Stanford has won five straight openers, including wins over San Jose State in each of the last two seasons. The Cardinal have won five straight meetings with the Spartans overall and are looking to win six straight in the series for the first time since a stretch from 1992-97.

• Stanford will be the final FBS team to open its 2013 season when it kicks off with San Jose State at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Cardinal were one of six FBS teams that were idle in Week 1 (also Arizona State, Kansas, Memphis, Navy, and UTEP).

• Stanford has forced its opponent to turn the ball over at least once every game since Oct. 1, 2011 against UCLA. The 24-game streak is the longest active streak in the Pac-12 -- Washington is second at 17 -- and the second-longest in the FBS behind Missouri (31). It’s the longest such streak for Stanford since a 26-game run spanning the 2004-06 seasons.

• Stanford has won 23 games in two seasons under head coach David Shaw, the most by a head coach in his first two seasons at the school, and tied for the most in ANY two-season stretch in program history (also 2010-11).

• Stanford is 13-0 against schools from the state of California over the previous three seasons. Its last loss against an in-state rival came on Nov. 21, 2009 against California.

• USC has dominated its series with Washington State, winning 41 of the teams' last 46 meetings and 28 of 31 at the Coliseum (both include a vacated win in 2005). Due to Pac-12 scheduling rotations, this is the first meeting since 2010.

• In Week 1, Marqise Lee was targeted on 51 percent of USC’s pass attempts, up 12 percentage points from last season.

• Washington State QB Connor Halliday attempted 65 passes last week at Auburn, the second-most in FBS. This should come as no surprise, as the Cougars attempted 52 passes per game last season and passed on 77.7 percent of their plays (both highest in FBS).

• Under Lane Kiffin (since 2010), AP-ranked USC teams have gone 16-4 against unranked opponents, winning 11 of the last 12 such games.

• Utah leads its series 3-0 with Weber State 3-0. The last meeting was a 37-21 win in 2008.

• The Utes will be looking to extend their streak of 19 consecutive sellouts at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

• Utah's sophomore QB Travis Wilson had his second career 300-yard game in the win last week over Utah State. His primary target senior receiver Anthony Denham, who caught six passes for 113 yards.
