In the mind of New York Rangers GM Jeff Gorton, it’s a good problem to have. In Eric Staal and Rick Nash, the Rangers had two high-end players trying to work their way back to the level we expect, and they’re trying to do it at the same time.
Staal, of course, was acquired at the trade deadline, and he is making the adjustment that comes with being the centerpiece captain of a franchise traded to a team where he’s trying to find his fit in a smaller role.
For Nash, it’s been about recovery and timing.
