The highest scoring NBA games can be a great source of fantasy value for DFS. Here we’ll consider a few of the highest scoring contests, highlighting must own players, sneaky starts, and guys to fade. In addition to the total, we’ll consider the spread and how it might impact the game’s stars and/or open up some opportunity for bench players. To be successful in NBA DFS, you have to be attuned to talent, minutes, matchups and salaries. We’ll consider those attributes of the key players from these high scoring games.

Houston Rockets at Boston Celtics (-6)

Point total: 221.5

You won't hear me say this often, but a smaller spread would be nice. Although, we do find ideal pace metrics in this matchup supporting a huge implied point total. Boston is third in the league in pace with 101.3 possessions per 48 minutes, while Houston is seventh (100.1). Since the beginning of January, the Celtics are eighth in offensive efficiency (101.6) and the Rockets (100.1) are 11th. Even with Boston's quality defensive metrics mixed in, we find flaws with the Celtics' lack of rim protection and frontcourt defense. This rich space and pace environment is ripe for key rotation members to meet cost.
