The state tournament is down to the final stages, with semifinal matchups set for this week and championship games set for this weekend. New London remains at No. 1 in the POWERADE state rankings after holding off former No. 2 Windsor in double overtime, but that may not have been the Whalers' biggest postseason hurdle. Up next in the Class LL semifinals is St. Joseph, the new No. 2 team. St. Joseph was victorious when the teams met on Dec. 28.
