McCullers Jr. is state's top baseball player

Jesuit senior right-handed pitcher/shortstop Lance McCullers Jr. was rated the state's top baseball prospect on ESPNHS.com today by Jason A. Churchill.

Last season, McCullers struck out 79 batters in 52 innings and hit .422 with seven homers and 24 RBIs. He projects more as a pitcher at the next level because of his power arm — he's hit 100 mph on the radar gun.

Olympia teammates Walker Weickel and Jesse Winker, King first baseman Keon Barnum and Coral Springs outfielder Lewis Brinson round out the top five.
